- What is Endometriosis:
- Endometriosis is a condition in which cells similar to those in the endometrium, the layer of tissue that normally covers the inside of the uterus, grow outside of it.
- Most often this is on the overies, Fallopian tubes and tissue around the uterus and overies, however in rare cases it may also occur in other parts of the body.
- Just like endometrium this escape tissue of endometrium respond to the hormones estrogen and progesterone by thickening, and even it may bleed every month. But the tissue escape is growing in other parts of the body the blood which flows can not escape. This causes irritation to the surrounding tissues, and causes cysts and scars.
- Endometriosis is one of the condition which leads to the Female INFERTILITY.
- What are the causative factors:
- Actually no one exactly knows what causes endometriosis, but according to some experts menstrual blood with endometrial cells travels back through the fallopian tubes and passes out into the pelvic cavity where the cells stick to the organs, this is known as retrograde menstruation.
- Genetics may also play a vital role in whether you get endometriosis.
- Some females might have some immune disorder along with the endometriosis. But this is not confirmed.
- Signs And Symptoms:
- In many cases it will remain as asymptomatic. But when symptoms are present, they may be
- Abdominal cramps or back pain during menstruation

- Severe menstrual cramps
- Painful urination or bowel movements, especially during menstruation
- Diarrhea or constipation, chronic fatigue, nausea, vomiting, headache, low-grade fever
- Abnormal or heavy bleeding during menstruation

- Risk Factors:
- Researchers do not know the exact cause, environment or reason which can cause endometriosis, but there they have observed that endometriosis normally runs in families, it occurs in women who have short menstrual cycles, or longer then normal flow like <25 days cycle, or >7 days menstrual flows.
