Virechana Karma:
Virechana Karma is specifically used for the PITTA related disorder. In this we are giving Ama Pachana for the certain days depend on the Prakruti and condition of the individual. Then once Ama Pachan is over then as par the Bala of the individual, we are giving Senha pana for certain days. And after proper Ama Pachana and Sneha pana, one has to undergo for the Abhyanga and Swedana for the Three days. And when all steps done properly main procedure start.
In the main procedure, after proper abhyanaga and swedana we are giving proper food and once food is over then freshly prepared medicine we are giving, and mostly after 45 minutes to 1 hour person feels the urge of motion, and then person usually passes motion for 10 to 30 times. And it may go more than that only in some cases but if and only if person feels week or dehydrated then only we are giving anti diarrheal medicine or else we let the motion passes it will stop by itself, and during the whole procedure we are giving only luck warm water to drink and nothing else.
Duration of Virechana Karma:
Purva Karma: Includes
- AmaPachana- 3 to 7 days
- Sneha Pana- 3 to 7 days
- Abhyanga & Swedana- 1 or 2 days
Pradhana Karma: Includes
- Virechana Preocedure- One day.
Paschyaat Karma: Includes diet.
- In this person has to follow the given dietary advice normally this take 3 to 7 day’s time according the Shuddhi of the person.
Precautions:
- Diet should be proper as directed by the treating Vaidya.
- One has to take proper sleep at night. And in no condition day sleep is allowed.
- Ama Pachan dravya has to take at the given dose.
- One has to take Sneha as prescribed dose and at the recommended time.
- During the procedure only luck warm water should be taken if one feels hungry then luck warm and liquid diet is advisable.
- Even after finishing the treatment one has to follow diet as advised.
